Rain, drizzle, gootie, buckets, dribs, drabs, ker-sploshes. If feels like the sun has forgotten how to operate and the clouds' off-button operators have gone AWOL.
My laundry has not dried all week, my driveway has got that unmistakable slippery mossy feel underfoot, there are little muddy paw prints on the kitchen floor tiles, and I'm pretty sure our bath towels will be sprouting some sort of fuzzy growth any minute now. Sigh. Every day we think, oh, perhaps tomorrow! but then tomorrow arrives and the water... still falling.
Anyhoo - beneath all the puddles and rivulets (and raging rivers!) time is still a'ticking. Someone's Facebook status announced that it is already "one month till Christmas Eve" today and I almost gave up FB surfing for the day. Haha - as if ;)
In just over two weeks time my Mom is catching her lift to SA! In less than a month I will be enjoying early morning coffee and chats with MY MOM! I am sooooo looking forward to this. She's a hoot, a great Mom, one heck of a friend, and she totally gets me & I her. I love my Mom. PLUS - I've managed to organise a stand-in here at work so I don't feel guilty leaving my post unmanned. I only have about 6 days of leave left to me this year but I'm going to dot them around and spread them about. Oooh, so excited.
Please, please, please let there be some sun then, though. And a bit before then too, please?
