Another step & some toilet fishing...

Starting block of the day was to fax off our completed forms for one of the adoption agencies.  Expecting a call, possibly next year, I nearly dropped my cellphone when I heard a lady say "Hello, I'm calling from ****," and then the conversation swiftly moved on to booking our first meeting with them.  It's so funny how we (I) get all fast-heart-beaty and hyper-alert at EVERY step that is in the forward direction.

Later on our newest doc had some "practice" on my neck and shoulders; just some mobilisation without actual adjustments -- really relaxing.  I could have happily had a mid morning nap during after that & told her that I would love to continue as a practice body if ever it's required!

Yes, I know.  The last part of this post's title is rather ominous, huh.  During a bathroom visit all relaxation gained earlier was lost when I heard klink-a-tink and, looking down, saw the little rings (6) and cross (1) had scooted off my now broken necklace.  Aaaaah.  How does a necklace clasp just break like that?  At a moment when there's not even any tension on it?  Unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to fish them out pre-flush -- remember, this is a semi-public loo because it's in reception -- so I closed my eyes and flicked the handle..... and then rescued the last surviving rings (3) and my cross.  DH posted the rings to me while I was in the UK (post proposal) in 1995.  They're special.  I have probably not worn them for about 2 days in total since then.  There were 7 of the little rings initially but I took one off so my cross would be central.  Ahh, that's good, that 7th one is in my jewelry box at home.  Two rings either side of the cross will do :)

Actually, in the necklace parcel was also a carton of my brand of cigarettes.  Yup, I was mailed two articles that should never have made it through customs apparently; tobacco and gold.  Crazy.  Anyhow - just a reminder -- I gave up smoking more than 5 years ago now.  Amazingly, I still get a crave going once in a blue moon - but that's only when I have a glass of wine or a drink of something, which isn't often, thankfully.

Oh, and I turned 38 yesterday.
